Time out

The monthly challenge on UKs was very simple this month - just use this palette of colours:

I did a very simple page using some old Basic Grey papers - it's a picture from our recent holiday in Cornwall.

Don't forget, there is still time to enter to win some blog candy - see the post at the beginning of my blog.

I think this stamp set is going to be very versatile.

Stamps - Perfect Blend
Own stash - Merry Christmas stamp, Bakers twine and ivory linen cardstock

Envelopes made using SU's envelope punch board

Cute mini album

Two posts in two days - this must be a record!  Today I want to show you a gorgeous mini book/notebook I made from the instructions given by the very talented Elaine Jackson.

I have made several of these books but only filled one with photos so far.  They are made using one sheet of paper and some white/vanilla/cream cardstock for the pages.  I didn't have any 12" x 12" card suitable for making the pages so I had to improvise and use some paper from an A3 sketch pad I had but the end result is the same.

The belly band keeps it closed.

Supplies used are all Stampin' Up unless stated otherwise.

Stamps - polka dot pieces, gorgeous grunge, starburst sayings.
Punches, banner, butterfly, 1" circle, 1 3/8" circle, oval 1 3/4" x 7/8", scalloped oval, petite petals, itty bitty punches.
Papers - polka dot parade, fresh prints.

White paper and crystals are not SU.

Here are some of the other mini albums I have made using Stampin' Up papers and Basic Grey papers.  The dog one is slightly smaller than the others and the camera one, slightly bigger due to bad measuring LOL!

Sue's sketch challenge

Last night and over the weekend, the house that I am in on UKs is having a fun weekend with challenges, games and classes.  Sue (miniowner) kicked it off last night with her fab sketch challenge

and this is what I came up with.  This photo had been on my desk for ages and as I was having a bit of a clear up, thought I might as well use what was to hand LoL!

Hopefully I will be back soon with a maze book - a mini album made from one sheet of 12" x 12" paper :)

A card

I'm having a few problems with my blog and not being a whizz on the computer, I have no idea how to sort it out but it seems the only way I can post is to go through blogger.

It was my sister in law's birthday on Tuesday so I made her this card - I also made a similar version for my daughter's friend Gracie and my other SIL whose birthday was Monday.

A beautiful bridesmaid

Today, Holly is chief bridesmaid at the wedding of her uni friends Rae and Dave and this is the picture she has just sent me of her, Rae and Rae and Dave's daughter, Nora-Quinn.  Don't they look beautiful?

The theme of the wedding (as if you couldn't guess) is vintage and red and white polka dots.

I made a very quick card for them last night using some my new Stampin up stuff - I hope they like it.

I added some stickles to the Mr & Mrs to highlight it a bit but I'm not sure if if shows too well in my photo.

Dashing through the snow

When we went tobogganing on Boxing Day, I bought two of the photos that were taken of us and I have used one of them for this page for the UKs weekly challenge.

This was the criteria for the challenge:

Looking back to the third week in February 1863, a committee was started that eventually became the International Red Cross. For 5 points each, use a cross and the colour red.
On February 17th 2013, the actor Richard Briers died. One of his most popular series was “Ever Decreasing Circles” . For 10 points use a circle or spiral.
This is the final week of the Sochi Winter Olympics, so for 10 points use one photo, or more, of an outdoor activity.

I didn't mange to use a cross but if I'd thought about it a bit more, I probably could have Lol!

I used lots of stickles to highlight the alphas :)

I've already done a page with the other photo

I used the same paper range and  similar sketch as they will sit next to each other in my album but I didn't want to do a double page spread.

I have also finished my nephew's wedding stationery - nothing fancy like Adam's but then I didn't have the same amount of time.

Just a simple gatefold design with some hearts cut out on the front showing the gold card underneath and then some cards to go in with the invitations with accommodation/RSVP/presents info on.
I still have the evening invitations to do and then nearer the time, place cards, table plans, favours etc.

The Everyday

Here is my page for the weekly challenge on UKs.  I haven't done any journalling because I am hoping that this will form part of my February paes of Project Life.  However, although I have taken photos and made some notes, I haven't actually gone any further so will probably end up adding a journalling tag to this at a later date!

I also have a card to share:

I made this for an elderly neighbour.

Perfect End

I'm trying to get back in to my crafting rhythm but it's a slow journey.  Anyway I've managed to do the monthly challenge over on Uks where we were given a colour palette to work to.  These are the colours - gorgeous aren't they?
and this is what I came up with  a picture of the sun setting on New Year's Eve.

It looks like I have used pink card for the background but it really isn't!  It's more coral.

I've also done the weekly challenge set by my lovely friend Sue and this was her criteria:

In summary, for 10 points each:
♥ frosty or snowy photograph(s)
♥ blue and white colours
♥ sparkling glitter/Stickles/bling

Beat the Christmas Rush

Last year I entered into Sue's challenge to make 5 Christmas cards per month so that come December I'd have plenty already made and boy was I grateful I had.  She's doing the challenge again this year (you can find details here) so I'm joining in again and here are my first 5 - okay 6 this month!

Mini album

Very little crafting has been going on in my part of the world since well before Christmas but I've just made a mini album for my mother in law so I am hoping that this will kick start my mojo.

I made this as a birthday gift - firstly because what do you buy someone who is 84? and secondly, she has Alzheimer's so as we were taking her out for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday, I thought the album might help her remember a bit about her afternoon.

These are before I added the photos.

and after the pictures were added.
