So Lucky

This page was created for the weekly challenge on Uks - scrap a photo of yourself, use purple and turquoise and butterflies.
Although I love purple, I don't use it on my scrapbook pages very often and I know I do have some purple patterned papers, I couldn't actually find them so I used some Cosmic Shimmer Mist and distress inks instead.

I've just realised I haven't written on the tag so I'll have to sort that out!

I used this as my inspiration.

Holly's birthday card

I had 3 birthdays close together so I thought I'd make the same card for each person.  This is the one I did for Holly and it measures 8" x 8".

This is the one I did for my friend Jen and is a bit smaller at 6" x 6".

and this is the one for my friend Pam.

All the same products but all slightly different.

Creative Craft World are launching a new mini kit today and I was lucky enough to be given one early to have a play with.  Stupidly, I forgot to take a pic of what was actually in the kit but here are 3 of the projects I made and I have loads left over lol!
Click on the layout and hopefully it should be a bit bigger.

There was loads of buttons, card candy, brads, ribbons, 6 x 12" plain card stock, 6 x 6" double sided papers, adhesive pearls and paper doilies in it - excellent value for money for both card makers and scrapbookers alike.

Girls

The sketch

This is my entry for the weekly challenge.  Unfortunately the colours look pants here - I've no idea how to brighten them so I've had to leave it as is.  The background card is yellow so you can see how dull they've come out.
Anyway, back to the challenge, which was to use the sketch given, a one word title (which I struggled with and might change this or add more words at a later date) and use scraps in shades of one colour.  I did a bit of sewing and added some beads to give it a bit more dimension.

52 card challenge - week 2

This week we had to use primary colours, handmade embellishment and a journalling spot.

Oh what a night!

A layout of Adam and Lucy - the photo was taken in Jan 2010 but I don't know the background of it yet.  They were at a party I think.  I've left the date and the journalling blank so that they can fill in the relevant details.
The criteria for this weeks challenge on UKs was to use something old, something new and bling.  The old bit is the bling in the centres of the flowers, I've had those years and years lol!  The papers are new, received last week and the bling is the bling!

There are two cards to journal on - the heart and the typewriter card.
The felt is old, I forgot to mention that on UKs - I've had it forever, well certainly the red.

52 card challenge

In my bid to try and have cards all ready made for when they are needed, I thought I'd have a go at the 52 card challenge which you will find here on kool kitty musings blogover and also on UKs, here.  Each week we are given a prompt and week one, last week was a design elements and theme prompt:
1.Theme - New as in beginnings, baby, home or new stash
2. Circles
3. Scallops
This is my card - a new baby one and it's 8" x 8" square.

In the mood

I've finally managed to do a weekly challenge - the first one in nearly 2 months!  This week the challenge was to use old stash, circles or rings and doodling.  As you can see from this layout and my 2 previous posts, I'm having a run on some old Basic Grey Lemonade papers which I have had at least 2 years.

The photo is from 1963 and Mum and Dad and some friends quite often used to go posh dinner dances.  In those days Mum used to make her own dresses and the one she is wearing in this picture was blue and had faux fur round the neckline if I remember correctly!  They all used to love Glenn Miller music, so that's where the title came from - one of his tunes.

The tag pulls out to reveal some journalling.

Thank you

Today, the first saturday of the month, its time for January's scrap map from Creative Craft World.
Here is mine:
and a few close ups:

Have a go and link it to the CCW blog so we can all see and you may be in with the chance of a prize!

A few cards

Firstly, I've changed my blog background.  I love winter and hope that before too long we have some snow or at least a really heavy frost!

My blog has been very neglected of late - I've didn't really do any crafting in December but now it's back to it.
I'm wanting to use up some of my old (but favourite) papers so I've done a few cards to kick start the New Year.  They're all on a theme of butterflies for some reason.

The next two are tiny cards - about the size of a place name card.

That's it for today:)
