Not a button or felt flower in sight!

A birthday card for my nephew who will be 30 in a few weeks.  This isn't from me but I've made it for my SIL to give to her son.  Mine, I'm afraid will be last minute:(

Always great fun in our garden

I was given these papers in a kit by my lovely friend Sue.  She made a kit for each one of us who attended our recent retreat and it contained lovely papers, cardstock, ribbons, buttons, flowers and wire.  I did intend to use it while we were away but I'm such a slow scrapper, I never got around to it so I thought I'd use it now for this picture of Adam and Holly.
Chris was always making things out of what most people might describe as "tut" but the children always loved his creations.

Some of my felt flowers have been used as well as some buttons.

Picnic in the Park

I found this photo when I was sorting through my pics for the retreat.  I intended to scrap it then but because I was soooooo slow, I didn't get around to it but it's proved perfect for this weeks challenge on UKs, which is to use spring colours, food and and fabric.

The flowers will be in my Etsy shop at some point soon:)

Word of the day? Wonderous

My lovely friend Jen used the word wonderous to describe a turquoise laptop and wonderous is how I would describe these buttons too!  I so love this fabric and have coveted it for ages and now it's mine:)
These cuties will be in my shop later!

Fireman's Lift

Holly, Steph, Becky and Amy went to Twickenham to watch the England ladies rugby match and Steph took this photo of Holly and Becky messing about with Holly giving Becky a fireman's lift!  I used this page for the weekly challenge on UKs and it took me out of my comfort zone a bit.  The challenge was to use 3 photos, misting or painting and the uncomfortable bit was the doodling - but not just faux stitching or a few dots but proper doodling.  I decided I'd have a go at doing the title and this is the result.  I cut the letters out and raised them on foam pads.

This close up shows some of my felt buttons which I will be putting in my shop soon.

A girly week away

My poor blog is getting more and more neglected!  I have been away on a retreat with 5 of the Bijoux Belles - this is our third time and I'm about to book next years because we always have such fun.  The idea is to get lots and lots of scrapping done but I am one of the least productive because I faff and easily get distracted!  I'll show you the first three pages I made.

I made the red buttons and similar ones can be found in my Etsy shop.

Holly had a Murder Mystery dinner party for her 17th birthday and this was her with her hair up and make up all done looking very grown up.

This photo of Holly has been hanging around on my desk for ages.  It's not a very clear picture but I love it, she just looks so happy.  She seems to think Adam took it when they were messing about at home.   I made the felt flowers and again, a variation of these can be found over in my Etsy shop.

My final page for the moment is the one I did for the monthly challenge over on UKs and the theme was JOY.  Again this is another picture I'd printed off at some point and not done anything with is so as it was taken on our 24th wedding anniversary I thought it seemed appropriate:)

If you click on the layouts it makes them bigger and I've just noticed that I have the wrong date on the last one, it should be 2010 lol!  Easily sorted without too much hassle thank goodness.

Chat

This months scrap map over on CCW proved to be quite difficult for me but I got there in the end.
This is my interpretation of it.  I used papers from the March kit which is now available on www.creativecraftworld.co.uk

I made this card and layout from the kit too and I have enough left to make several other projects.

Mini kit

The second mini kit is available from Creative Craft World today and I have had chance to play with it early.

I still have loads left, probably enough to make another 6" x 12" page and a couple of cards.

If you want to have a go at making something smaller than 12" x 12" with a spring theme, and a chance to win a mini kit check out creativecraftworld..blogspot.com

Yet another card

Mmm, not much scrapping being done and one card a week - it's not good enough!  I've been side-tracked making buttons lol!

Anyway, I digress.  The 52 week card challenge this week was to use cool, pastel colours, you can see the prompt here and this is my card.

A couple of cards

These are a couple of cards made for the 52 card challenge on UKs.
The first one we had to have an aperture so I made a simple shaker card.
The second one was to use hot pink, butterflies and paper.  The pink/green paper is a freebie from a magazine and I just folded the edge of the pink back to show the green  on the other side.  Simples.

I really do need to learn how to take better photos as these cards look really dull on here but they're not in real life:(

Belles

It's monday so that means another weekly challenge over on UKs.  For once I've actually done this today as it was relatively simple and straightforward.
This is the challenge:  As we are the Pink Glitter Gals we’d like you to use a photo of a woman/women in your LO (10pts)

To mark the DVD release of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, we'd like you to use sewing somewhere on your LO (10pts)

As 6th February 1918 saw British women over the age of 30 get the vote, celebrate an achievement in your LO (10pts)

For the women aspect I chose a picture of the picture of the Bijoux Belles at our annual retreat last March.  My achievement was the fact that I actually organised the first and second retreat despite it being something I'd never done nor would I have imagined myself doing and I've done a bit of sewing.

What a difference

Here is my interpretation of CCW's  February's scrap map drawn by Sue.  If you pop over to their blog you will find the map and details of how you could win a prize and a guest spot on the design team.!

Deliciousness

A simple page from me for this weeks challenge on UKs.  Use the sketch, journalling, new stash and blocks of paper/photos.

Here is the sketch.

So Lucky

This page was created for the weekly challenge on Uks - scrap a photo of yourself, use purple and turquoise and butterflies.
Although I love purple, I don't use it on my scrapbook pages very often and I know I do have some purple patterned papers, I couldn't actually find them so I used some Cosmic Shimmer Mist and distress inks instead.

I've just realised I haven't written on the tag so I'll have to sort that out!

I used this as my inspiration.

Holly's birthday card

I had 3 birthdays close together so I thought I'd make the same card for each person.  This is the one I did for Holly and it measures 8" x 8".

This is the one I did for my friend Jen and is a bit smaller at 6" x 6".

and this is the one for my friend Pam.

All the same products but all slightly different.

Creative Craft World are launching a new mini kit today and I was lucky enough to be given one early to have a play with.  Stupidly, I forgot to take a pic of what was actually in the kit but here are 3 of the projects I made and I have loads left over lol!
Click on the layout and hopefully it should be a bit bigger.

There was loads of buttons, card candy, brads, ribbons, 6 x 12" plain card stock, 6 x 6" double sided papers, adhesive pearls and paper doilies in it - excellent value for money for both card makers and scrapbookers alike.
