WOYWW 221 - omg!

Look at my desk!

Recently some of you who visit Julia's blog have been having a bit of reorganisation in your craft spaces.

I'd got the to the point in my room where I wasn't being productive so I thought perhaps it's time I gave my room a good clear out and got rid of the stuff I've had for years.

More pics of the horror!

There is now a a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel - this is the other side of my room (I didn't take a before pic) but this is it now, 3 shelves  starting to be sorted.

The top shelf has been cleared and I have put all my albums up there and over the next week or so all that is underneath with be cleared.

Pop over to Julia's blog and you will find desks that are much easier on the eye than mine:)

Twenty Fifth of August

Beat the Christmas Rush time again and I missed June and July's due to weddings and funerals so this month I've made 17 I think so I've caught up.  Phew!

A very simple design that came from Pink Petticoat - I love her style of cards, all clean and uncluttered not like my normal ones.  Anyway, I needed quick and easy and this ticked the boxes:)

If you're not playing BtCR there is still time, the idea being to get lots of Christmas cards made and ready just to write when we are busy with everything else that happens in December.  Sue's blog has all the details.

WOYWW 220 - We are sailing

If you've arrived here from Julia's blog, Stamping Ground, welcome to my (very untidy but normal) desk where you have found me in the middle of making a scrapbook page.  If you have no idea what I am talking about, check out the above link and you too can join in with this addictive Wednesday phenomenon :)

Whilst sorting through my father in law's photos I have found lots of our children growing up so have a massive bag of loose photos, some of which I will be scrapping in the weeks/months and years to come.

I have been making a few embellishments to put on my page
and here are a couple finished.

Right, I'm off to check out some desks:)

Oh yes, and here is the finished layout!

Grandad

These are some of the last pictures taken of my father in law and they were taken at Adam's wedding in June and he died three weeks later.

When I saw Sue's sketch I thought it would be perfect for me to showcase a few of these photos:)

The sketch:

and my layout

If you'd like to enter Sue's sketch challenge, there are still a few days left!

Adam

I've now finished the layout, subject of the previous page and here it is

Adam was two and a half - two and a half!  I remember it like yesterday!  A close up of the journalling

(click on the photo if you still can't read it).  I've mentioned the chimneys in the photo because they are no longer there.

WOYWW 219 I'm late, I'm late...

for a very important date - at Julia's blog Stamping Ground where you will find crafty desks from all over the world and mine should have been amongst them this morning.   Time ran away from me but anyway, here it is all in a mess from my creations last night

and  s you might see, I am in the middle of creating a layout for the weekly challenge on UKs.

If you'd like to join in with the fun, please check out Julia's blog.

Holly

I was looking through some of my father in law's photos and found this one of Holly taken when she was 5.  I thought it was so cute and had to scrap it:)

I used this sketch

from the Scrapology blog as I thought the shabby chic theme suited the photo.

I love you

I found a lovely sketch on this site - Artful Delight  and used it as my inspiration for a layout of Holly and Adam in the paddling pool at their Nan and Grandad's house - the sketch is here

and this is my interpretation of it.

Finally...

This is the completed page for the monthly challenge (see previous post) where we had to get our inspiration from the We challenge you" gallery.  There were some lovely pages in there and I chose this one by Daisychain  as I loved the contrast between the black cardstock and the white circles.

Unfortunately my white pen wouldn't work and I don't have a decent white ink pad so I went with this colour instead

and here is the journalling.

WOYWW 218

It's Wednesday again, how did that come around so quickly?  Of course this means there are lots of crafty desks to snoop around and to find out where they are, check out Julia's blog:)

Today finds me doing some none wedding related scrapping which is a change.  I've almost finished my layout for the monthly challenge on UKs but I can't find my silicone glue to stick on my buttons so if you see it lurking anyway, please let me know.

Click on the picture to make it bigger.

You might notice an empty packet of Wotsits on my desk which I ate with a fork (don't ask).  The pile of papers on the left are ones I was supposed to be getting rid of but have decided to use instead.  The red spotty paper wasn't in that pile, I hasten to add LOL!

The subject of this layout is my nails.  I have never been able to grow them, they get so far and split and then I nibble them off so I have always felt my hands were the least attractive part of my body.  For some reason, no idea why or how but they grew and got to the end of my fingers and were all in tact.  I was ironing at my friend's house and she was having her nails done before going on holiday and before I knew it, I'd booked for my nails to be pampered.  I decided against coloured polish as I didn't want to draw attention to my hands so I chose to have a french polish and boy am I thrilled with them.  Two weeks down the line and my nails still look fine and I'm about to book to have them redone:)

Come and join in with the fun - it's addictive:)

Have a great week everyone.

P.S.  The completed layout is here.

The garden

is looking lovely:)  My page for the weekly challenge over on UKs set by Hev as you can see below.

Mystery Woman (Hev) here,
This is the second time I’ve set a solo challenge, and I’ve really enjoyed it, apart from not being as prepared as I would have liked, due to us being in the middle of building works!

I would like to challenge you to use the sketch, as I love working from them, and I’ve also decided that I’d like you to incorporate one of my favourite colours in your LO.
I did some research on events, birthdays and deaths, to see who or what has happened during this week in history, that may be of some interest.
I didn’t find any interesting trivia, so it was down to people.
It soon became clear to me that I would focus on some famous acting and singing stars (past and present!)
So: famous births this week = Barbara Windsor, Dustin Hoffman, Chris Foreman (Madness), Robert Shaw, Melanie Griffiths and Whitney Houston. This week also sees the anniversary of the death of Marilyn Monroe.

My challenge will give you lots of scope, so I hope that too much choice doesn’t make it more difficult for you!

For the first 10 points, use the title from any film or song from one of the aforementioned stars. Please mention who it is, when you link to your LO.
For the second 10 points, use the sketch, either as a double page, or one of the pages individually.

These papers where in my box of stuff to get rid of, not because I didn't like them but because I am trying to thin out my stash a bit.  It was easier to look through this box than all my other papers and now I'm glad I did.

The garden is a Melanie Griffiths film although I have never heard of it!  I have used red and also one of the sketch so I have earned a welcome 30 points for my team.  I've been a bit lax in my point collecting recently so I am hoping this is the start of a bumper month!
