Looking forward

The weekly challenge this week looked quite difficult - here it is:
With the weather swinging from rain to sunshine all month and the inevitable rain at Wimbledon, we’d like to reflect this in the design. Please use clouds or weather related pattern paper / embellishments in your LO.

To help keep ourselves cheerful, let’s use zesty zingy colours too (oranges, yellows, lime greens, bright pinks, summer blues) ~ pick a few or a lot and have fun placing them in your LO.

Finally for the topic of the LO, let’s take a look backward or forward to mark the half way point of 2012. What have you done in the past 6 months or what do you plan to do going forward? Use photos and journaling to tell the story looking backwards or forwards.

Points:
10 points for weather related paper and/or embellishments
10 points for zesty zingy happy colours
10 points for telling a story with photos and journaling looking back or forward over 6 months

In the end it wasn't too difficult at all.

This is the place we are going to as a family in September and we are all looking forward to it.  It's a big holiday home, right on the beach, perfect for us :)

Lunch is served

Two more simple pages for my holiday album:)
The journalling is in the little folder here:

Northumberland

I've just finished 4 simple pages for my Northumberland holiday album.  I'm doing this in 6" x 6" and using my new Authentique papers:)

I might add some more embellies as the album progresses.  I don't find it as easy to decorate such small pages.

Even Mums were cute once

I was sorting out some of my photos and came across this one and as there were more than one of the same photo I decided I'd crop it and scrap it.

A couple of close ups too:

I haven't stuck the journalling tag down yet as I'm not sure if I want it on the front, I might stick it on the back  - not that it's got anything private on it, I just don't like it where it is!  I should have thought about it a bit more and then I could have done a hidden tag.  Too late when it's all stuck down.

Taking a break

I'm making a mini album of our Jubilee afternoon party and have done 4 pages so far.  I'm not doing them in any particular order but here they are:

This next page is a full sized layout and the photos were taken a couple of days before the party when we were putting up the marquee.

The reason I used a tree as an embellishment is that if you look to the bottom right of the photo of Chris, there is a very dead Christmas tree.  It has now been recycled and a new one will be going in it's place in due course!

Love our dogs

The weekly challenge has been done and here it is:

This is the criteria and I have managed to fulfill it - the swirl I struggled with but I stamped a couple under the lucky ticket and you can just see a bit of it peeking out.

Tinks got her nickname from Tinkerbell...as she was so delicate when she was a few years old however I always felt Tinkerbell was feisty and strong.

For 10 points please use a Patterned Paper with either a delicate feel or a very strong feel

For another 10 points...Tinks is very quirky and individual...to reflect this please use a cluster of embellishments that reflect your own style.

For 5 points...Tinks' favourite colour is navy so please include blue on your LO

For 5 points...Tinks' hair is starting to go curly so please use a swirl somewhere on your page.

There is some journalling under the Animal tag.

Colours of Spring

I made this page today for the UKs weekly challenge and it seems to fit with the sketch on Scrapology so I am going to enter it for that.

This is the lovely sketch..

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

I decided in a moment of madness that I would organise an Afternoon Tea party for some of our neighbours to celebrate the Jubilee and at the same time, try and raise some money for a local charity, Willen Hospice.  Those of you who know me, know that I shy away for social gatherings so it was totally out of character for me and at times I wished I'd never sent out the invitations but I had and we had about 30 people coming so I had to make the best of it.  Of course none of it would have happened without my lovely family helping all the way.

The monthly challenge on UKs was JUBILATION so I made this page showing some of the photos from our party which incidently raised £148.33!

As I have lots more pictures I would like to use I might make this into a double page.

The weekly challenge was on a similar theme - use red, white and blue, 2 or more photos and journalling so I thought I'd use these photos which I took on saturday.  We were putting up the marquee in the front when we saw this "bike" coming towards us.  It was an entry into the local carnival and won first prize.  It was awesome, 4 people sitting down and 2 dogs in a cage at the back!

My girls

It's the first saturday of the month so it's Scrap map time over at Creative Craft World and here it is.
and here is my interpretation of it.

I've just got a new camera so I was just taking snap after snap.  I used a button from my shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/SusibeesButtons because I thought it looked like Millie.
