Tempus Fugit

The challenge on UKs this week was to use a printed item (my title), use 10 embellies, (leaves and clock) and something that was free.  My free item was corrugate card and also I used a plastic bag and bubble wrap to create the background of my page.  As part of prompt 10 from Shimelle we had to create a background using stamping and also to stamp onto patterned scraps and cut out.  I coloured white card stock with distress inks and then stamped the leaves and cut them out.

24

Prompt 9 - to use kraft plus one other colour so I chose this paper range from Basic Grey which is years old but I still love.  It's called granola.

I didn't have a title in mind and when I was sticking everything down I noticed the 24 on my husband's tee shirt and as he's always there for me 24/7 I thought I'd call it 24!

I used one of the sketches but I'm not sure which day it was from.

Best Friends Forever

Prompt 8 from Shimelle was to use 2 colours plus a neutral so I chose red, turquoise and white as my neutral.
This is my oldest friend Wendy and me.  We've been friends since we were two so that's quite sometime.  I don't see her very often as we live 200 miles apart but I saw her at my Mum's funeral at the end of last month and Holly took these photos of us together.  I've used the sun sticker because Mum was a real sun worshipper and the day of the funeral, although it was the end of September, was very, very warm and sunny.  The sort of day she would have loved so I thought it was appropriate.
A close up of the button flower I made.

A special kind of love

I loved the page by Leah Farquharson in yesterday's prompt so had to have a go.  I had it all laid out last night ready to stick down and have been looking at it throughout today, umming and ahhing as to whether I liked what I'd done.  I decided I might as well go for it, at the end of the day, it's a few bits of paper and a photo that I can print out again if I need to!
I should have waited until daylight to take a photo of my page as I don't have any facilities to brighten my pics, but hey ho! I didn't.

Walking the plank

A very simple page using up some odd pieces of paper.  I was going to crop the photo and cut out my Mum and the tea pot on the patio but decided against it.  It's just a nice reminder of when things were all okay.

There is journalling on the back of the bingo card basically saying that Chris and Stephen were trying to get the duck to walk up the plank and get into his new pond.  They were enticing him with some lettuce in the bowl.  If you click on the layout it should go bigger and you might see the detail better.

The Cornish Arms

Mixing patterns was the prompt for today and I think I've done that here:)

I've used 4 different patterned papers from a range of manufactures and added a few spotted button flowers.

Our little cadet

Another page following my paper chopping up exercise or creative stash diving to use its proper name!

I'm not a fan of putting photos at a "jaunty" angle but with this one I had no real choice.  I think it's a pic taken by my Dad and had I put the photo straight, our summer house would have looked wonky!  The adore will have some journalling on the back but I'm just waiting to hear from Adam to see if he can remember if he was 9 or 10 in the photo!

Love Seat

I've used some of the papers from my creative stash diving (see further down) - the ones I cut into random pieces and in prompt 6 we had to look at using digi elements so I used a journalling block I download from SJ when it was free:)

It would have been my Mum's 86th birthday yesterday so I wanted to do a page to celebrate this and I found this one I'd not seen before of Mum and Dad.

Playing with Popeye

This is the next page I have made from my chopped up papers.  I used one on Shimelle's sketches from prompt 4.  The photo came from some I found at Mum's and must have been taken in the late 90's.  With hindsight, I have a feeling the duck isn't called Popeye - but Donald.  Oh well, we've had quite a few so I'm sure no one will notice!

Creative Stash Diving

Take about 8 sheets of plain cardstock, add 8 sheets of patterned paper which are matching colours and smallish patterns from various manufacturers ( preferably double sided) and we have the start of a whole bunch of layouts.  The first job was to take the patterned paper and chop it up into various sized squares, strips or rectangles before deciding anything else!  This was difficult but had to be done.

We had to start with a double layout so I made sure I had the right sized papers to spread over two pages then chop.......

This is the result of my first attempt - the rest will follow over the next few days.

Carry Me

Another page based on Shimelle's class, this time using dots and stripes together.

I used 2 different collections of Echo Park papers and the buttons I made.

Birthday wishes

Here is a card I made from the sketch provided by Shimelle in yesterday's prompt - again using patterned paper as the main background.

You

This page is the result of the second challenge from Shimelle's class.

"today it’s time to be brave and seek out full sheets of patterned
paper to become a perfect background for your project.
Yes indeed: we’re talking scrapbook pages without a
sheet of cardstock to start."

I've used the same range of papers as yesterday's page and card which are October Afternoon and Maple Grove and went with one of her sketches.

Using strips of paper

Shimelle supplied us with 3 sketches for layouts and one for cards using our odd strips of paper.   The card is so not me and didn't really want to put it on here but decided I would.  The layout again isn't my style (do I have a style?) but am liking this one a bit more.

I have also used my layout for the weekly challenge on UKs.  We had to use photos that weren't the usual 6" x 4", Halloween colours, so I used black and orange and get out a stamp that hadn't seen light of day for some time so I used some leaf stamps.

Pretty Paper Party

Today I am starting a new class given by Shimelle called Pretty Paper Party and my first challenge is to take a picture of my paper!  A favourite sheet, a basket of scraps or a file of papers ready for party projects.  As I had just been working on a kit I decided to take a photo of the scraps I have left which I intend to keep.
Click on picture to make it bigger.

When I look at this picture now I can see how ridiculous I am to keep such tiny scraps!  When am I ever going to us a strip of paper 6" long and 1/4" wide?

A couple of cards

Adam's 24th birthday card - I was lacking in inspiration but as he was digging borders and planting some flowers and shrubs I thought I'd do him a garden shed type card.

The next card is for Harvey's (Lucy's nephew) 4th birthday.  She said he liked Spiderman and Lightening McQueen.

I made this card out of A3 card folded to make A4 so it was quite large and because it was so dimensional, didn't have an envelope to fit so one had to be make.

Celebrate

This is my brother and sister in law just before we went to my nephew's wedding last month.  I did this page for the weekly challenge over on UKs and the criteria was use 3 lots of 3 things, use blue and use a household item. I covered a tag from the garden centre with paper to use for my journalling.

Ooop - some more LSNED I forgot to upload

LSNED - last 3 days

Cakes

My friend Emma came round this afternoon with 3 boxes of the most magnificent cakes and a sympathy card.  She thought the cakes, along with a cup of tea might cheer me up.  No sooner had I popped them in the fridge when Pam arrived, followed by Adam and Lucy so we all had a cup of coffee and a cake:)  Thank you Emma.

She obviously knows this family very well!!

The Dress

A new map today over on Creative Craft World today and this is my interpretation of it.

and a couple of close ups
