Rufus Stone
A nice easy weekly challenge, just what was needed lol! The criteria was, use one or more 4" x 6" photo, use a punch and incorporate some history into the page.
I can see that I will want to play around with these alot more now:)
I thought I'd start my holiday album off by doing a layout of the boat we will be staying in, in North Devon.
I coloured the cogs using rusty hinge distress ink and then embossed with vintage photo (I didn't have rusty hinge) distress embossing powder. I've never really got the hang of these distress embossing powders but today, I can see it has made the cogs look old and a bit rusty which is what I was after.

Special baby
This is a total scraplift of Louise Collins page in this months Scrapbook Magazine, using the free Nikki Sivils papers. I knew as soon as I saw the front cover of the mag I had to lift it.
For some reason, the photo I printed out, didn't dry properly. I have no idea why and can only assume I used the wrong paper and have since reprinted it on different paper. If my original doesn't dry over the next day or so I'll have to carefully remove it and replace it with the new one:(

Baby Adam comes to visit
It was lovely to see Laura, John and the baby this morning. It just makes me realise what a lifetime ago it was since mine were that small and how quick the time flies by. Adam is so tiny now, but next time I see him - maybe in the autumn he'll be about 6months old and getting ready to crawl. Make the most of each day Laura:)

Saturday Scrap Map - Mum in waiting
I made this page for the Creative Craft World Challenge at our retreat back in March. The stitching took me absolutely ages but I actually enjoyed doing it.
The theme this week is album sleeves and you can use any album cover as your inspiration or the one Sue has provided, which I like and went with.
The photo was taken by a professional photographer in 1989 when I was pregnant with Holly. Note the hair!!!

Not a bad view
The weekly challenge on UKs this week was again difficult for me - we had to scrap a picture of something/someone who was important to us, so that bit was easy, use green, again easy but to use only one of each element, ie. one brad, one piece of ribbon, one flower and as I like to do groups of flowers and lines of brads etc I feel as though my page is lacking.
We were allowed to make a layered flower and for the base of mine I used some cogs that my teamier Karen kindly sent me:) Thank you Karen.

Saturday Scrap Map - Love birds
A tricky theme this week over on Creative Craft World - birds with a sketch designed by Sarah. Although I do have pictures of birds I chose this one of Adam and Lucy kissing.
It was one of those photos that just had to be scrapped.

Bloomin' Lovely
I'm sure I posted a layout yesterday but it seems to have disappeared - I wonder if this one will?
These are the flowers I had delivered the other day from my nephew and his fiancee as a thank you for making their wedding invitations.

Tasty
We'd been at the Peterborough Motorhome Show for about an hour when we thought it must be coffee time - however we were tempted by these lovely cornish pasties.

loveliness
I was sorting through some stuff when I came across this layout partly done. The card with the circles had been prepared and the photo mounted onto the brown card but that was as far as it went. I can't remember what I intended to do with it so as I am in flower making mode, I thought I'd make some roses and go from there and this is the result.

Saturday Scrap Map - My family
The sketch over on Creative Craft World was provided by Lou and the theme is "family".
Last weekend, Holly, Chris, the dogs and I had a family day out at Harrold-Odell Country Park so I chose to use a couple of photos from our lovely day. It's rare now that Holly comes out with us so that made the day all the more enjoyable.

A few cards
I bet you can't tell who this card is for!
This is the box lid.
Laura's new baby card - I had intended to put baby's name on the bottom right of the card but after two days, we still didn't know the name so I thought I'd better send it!

My nephew's wedding invitations - a very poor photo unfortunately.

This is the Life
The weekly challenge on UKs this week was quite an easy one for a change. Lots of distressing, flowers, ribbon, journalling and glitter - just what I like.
I chose to use a picture that was taken last weekend on our first overnight outing in Polly. We have always hoped we'd have a camper van again and now we have. Most photos of me seem to be eating - I wonder why!
The papers come from Sarah's Cards March kit, using October Afternoon papers called Modern Homemaker which I bought because there was some red spotted paper in it lol! I also used one of the sketches that was provided in the kit. I even used some of my more lush red spotty buttons.

A grand day out
Chris has had a busy week and we couldn't manage an overnight stay anywhere in Polly this weekend, but thought we'd go out today after he got back from diving.
I packed some food and Holly decided where we were going and as soon as Chris was home, we set off for Harrold-Odell Country Park. It's only the other side of Olney - about 22 miles from home and I can't believe we've never been. It's such a lovely big area with lots of walks, lakes, picnic areas and wood carvings dotted here and there. It was a scorcher of a day (totally unexpected) and although the car park was busy, it was such a big area that it didn't seem busy.
There were lots of families with dogs (a constant worry for us with Millie) but we had her spray collar on and she was a perfect angel - in fact both dogs behaved impeccably.
Holly helped me cook a cheese omelette for lunch which we had with salad followed by chocolate butterfly cakes and then for tea we had toasted hot cross buns! We certainly know how to live.
It really was a "Grand Day Out" and definitely a place we will visit again.
