24 years

This page was created for the UKs weekly challenge which was to use blue, a summer themed photo, journalling and a handmade embellishment.
The flowers are made the same way as the ones I did the other day, except I used colour washes to get the brown as I don't have any brown shades of Cosmic shimmer mist and to try and get the sheen I sprayed with perfect pearls in blue but it didn't show up very well so I've added a bit of distress stickles.
The photo was taken in our garden last summer when we were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary.

Another Trevone page

Although it was November, we were lucky to have lovely weather while we were in Cornwall.  Chris and Keith spent hours in the sea on their body boards so Bev and I just had a wander round, keeping an eye on them from time to time and generally just chilling.
I was inspired to make the flowers after Maria saying she'd made some scrunched up flowers.  Although I haven't made mine the same way as she did, I had great fun and got (well still have) very messy pink fingers!

Catching some waves - not!

Trevone, Cornwall, and Chris is having a break from body boarding.  I have to say, this looks a lot better in real life - maybe I should have waited until daylight to take the photo of the page.

A couple of close ups of the shells.

Beautiful

This week over at CCW the theme for the scrap map designed by Sue is  "All things girly".  I chose to make a page of Holly (just for a change!!)
Why not give the sketch a try?  You might be chosen as the next guest design team member!

A random page with no title

Nothing special about this picture but I wanted to scrap it anyway - I'm rather partial to a cupcake.  The shop was in Port Isaac but unfortunately it was closed - I assume because we were out of season.
The papers were given to me by Laura apart from the red spots which was from Sue.  Thanks ladies:)

Project 12 - October 2010

I'm playing catch up a bit here and hopefully by the end of the weekend I should be up to date!  (Well, I can hope).

Sorry the picture is so wonky.

Another Mother's Day card

I decided I'd use some of the flowers I made the other day on this card.  I'm not sure if I like it or not but as the card will probably go in the bin the day after Mother's Day, I'm not going to fret about them.

Mother's Day card and a birthday card

These haven't photographed well at all which is disappointing.  Still, they are done, with one more Mother's Day card to make which I am doing in a similar way but as a patchwork effect.

Secret Garden

Walking round the village of Port Isaac, I came across this high wall which I couldn't see over. As I'm a bit nosy, I held my camera as high as I could over the wall and clicked and this was the result.  It looked like a little cafe down below with lovely mosaic walls.
For a change I've made this page 6" x 12".

UKs March Week 3 - Cornish pasties rock

This week we had to include 2 photos, use scraps of papers, bunting and a stamped image.  The bunting stamp was a freebie with a craft magazine I got on friday so that came in very handy!
This picture amuses me because my husband's twin sister is very bossy and her poor husband (on the left) just does as he is told most of the time.  However on this occasion, he made up his own mind.  We were looking for a place to have lunch and my SIL fancied this winebar/bistro.  We all trouped in and sat down and I took one look at the menu and said to Chris, I'd rather have a cornish pasty from the shop we've just passed.  He agreed and we got up and said where we were going.  The next minute, Keith is right behind us saying he'd like a pasty too!  We left SIL and friend to their posh nosh and we went and had a real feed.  The pasties were delicious and worth breaking the ranks for!!  I'm sure Keith got ear ache later on though!

Making flowers.

I intended to do some scrapping last night but I got sidetracked into making some flowers.  Here are the results.   No idea what I'll do with them, but I had fun.

Pumpkin enjoying a bit of freedom.

Holly let her rabbit out into the garden today so she enjoyed an hour or so of freedom.  The dogs however were not very keen on her being in their garden as they had to stay indoors.

Creative Craft World Saturday Scrap Map

This week we had to use a landscape photo and you will find the sketch on the CCW blog.  I made this page at our recent retreat - it was a class taught by Sue.  It caused Maria and I no end of measuring problems, but we put that down to the trimmer and not our incompetence!!  I was pleased with the end result.

Blow

I liked this photo so I thought I'd scrap it - no other reason than that.
The stitching round the circles took ages but I enjoyed doing it - it's very theraputic.  If you click on the layout it will make it a bit bigger.

New boots for Tuppenny Wee

Holly bought these boots from Asda - just right for a modern dog!!  The are really car air fresheners but with the wadding taken out, fit the boy perfectly.

Twins - UKs weekly challenge

The brief this week was very simple - to have lots of white space, use bling and use one or two photos.  This is a pic of Chris and Bev when they were about 4.  I've done the page as an 8" x 8" and I'll make an album of Chris's childhood photos as and when I get them from FIL.

Dartmouth House

The march monthly challenge was to use monochrome and there was a sketch to follow.  This is my interpretation of it.
This is where we stayed last week and it looks like we may be booking it next year too!

Spring Walk

This is my layout for the UKs weekly challenge.  We had to use a splash of yellow, squares, spring in the title and handmade scrunched up flowers.

Laugh

I made this using some of the scrap from Sandie's class.  It sort of matches The Beecheys at the Beach.  Both were from 1997 and the photos taken in Saundersfoot where we stayed for the weekend curtesy of the PIL.  Holly was 7 and she'd broken her arm but it didn't stop her having fun.

An engagement card for Adam and Lucy

A sweep is as lucky as lucky can be!

I have had this photo in my folder waiting to be scrapped for ages and have finally done it.  It was taken at the Victorian Festival in Portsmouth in November 2008.  It was a fab day out and one which will be repeated in the years to come.  Everyone was dressed in Victorian style so it was great to get such fun pics.
The title came from my teamie Sue and was beautifully written by another of my teamies, Jen.  The rosettes were made using a new Tim Holtz die.

Workshop with Sandie

On the saturday of the Bijoux Belles retreat I organised a workshop with Sandie Vincent and we did three classes.  Here are the results of mine:

I was really pleased with the results of all three pages I made and I learned how to make a paper doilie using a punch.
Another saturday, another sketch map on CCW.  This is my interpretation of it.   The theme this week was Spring/seasons so I chose autumn.
One of the many pages I made at our 2nd Bijoux Belle retreat in Olney.  I will upload some more layouts later in the day.

Circles

Today's challenge on CCW is to use circles and this is my page.  There are circles on the background paper and I have used the snowflakes which sort of represent a circle shape!

Anything goes so long as the card is for a male

This was the brief for the challenge over on Creative Craft World and here is my creation.  It's a bit late in being uploaded but I have been busy preparing for The Bijoux Belles forcoming Retreat:)  The challenge is bing sponsored by The Crafty Pad Stamp Designs - so go on - have a go, you know you want to!

I've used a selection of my own stamps for my card and I might use it for Chris's birthday which is next week.  I just need to add a greeting and job done.
