Twisted Sketches #55 - Bliss

The twist this week over on twisted sketches was flag, anyway, anyhow, so I made some bunting out of the scraps of card.  I would rather liked to have had more bunting across the bottom corner, but I think less is more sometimes.
My 2 dogs love standing/sitting on the body board in the water of the pool.

Project 12 - May

It's taken me ages to get around to doing this, maybe because I didn't have any great photos and I printed them off at home and the quality leaves alot to be desired.  It's done though and it's a record of May 2010 so for that I am happy.

Richard's birthday card

It's my nephew's birthday on monday and he's going to be 30.  It's difficult enough to make cards for men, but young men is even worse.  Anyway, I thought I'd play with some inks and a mask and get dirty. I used some glossy accents on the car to make it nice and shiny.  The 2 small cars are done with shrink plastic.

Wedding Day pages

There is a challenge over on Creative Craft World to make something suitable for a wedding so I am entering these 2 pages I made of our wedding day back in 1985.

Simple Pleasures - Sketchy Thursdays 6:17

This is my interpretation of the sketch - which incidently is a fab sketch and one I will use again.  I also used this page for my weekly challenge over on UKs.

Today, this little duckling wandered into my Mother in Law's conservatory.  He managed to hop up the step which is about 4" high and Holly found him just wandering about.  He was taken out to the pond behind their house to be reunited with his family.  However, the ducks around the pond attacked him and tried to kill him by the looks of it.  Chris managed to pick him up and he and Holly took him back to MIL's house and later on brought him home.  Holly wanted to keep him but as we have 2 small terriers it wasn't really an option so we took him to "Ark House" - a lady who takes in abandoned creatures and looks after them until they can go back into the wild.  Oswald, we were told, is a girl and she is 2 days old.

Janet's birthday card

This card was made for another of my friends over on UKs.  She likes bright colours and flowers.  This is one of my favourite stamps ever and I love using it.

Sketchy Thursday 6:10

This doubles up as June Week 2 on UKs - I had to scrap someone I care about, use something old/new/borrowed or blue, paint/ink or stamping and some journalling.  It also covers my jounalling jar dip which was to scrap in  a new size.

Twisted Sketches #53 UKs June Week 1

This layout is of my son and his girlfriend on their recent trip to Egypt.  I have used the twisted sketch and covered all the elements for the UK Scrappers June week one challenge.

There are some different easel cards.  Love making these:)

Maria's birthday card

This card was made for my friend Maria over on UKs.  She likes Tim Holtz/grungy type cards so that was my theme.  I was really pleased with the finished result until I went to put it in the envelope when I decided it wasn't right.  However, as it's got to go to France, it was too late to alter it.
I originally made the roses out of grunge paper but they were a) too thick and b) too smelly (grunge paper really stinks actually), so I've just used thin card, coloured with distress inks and when the roses were assembled, I put a touch of glitter glue on the petals.
The roses are still very dimensional so I had to use a padded envleope to send it in.

another card

I haven't done any scrapping over the last few days but I've made a few cards.  Here is one I have made for my sister in law to give to her son's girl friend.  This is the first time I've made an easel card, but definitely not the last - they are so simple and effective.

Ruby Wedding Card

My next door neighbour asked me to make a ruby wedding card for some friends who loved Disney.  Apparently they have a whole room at home filled with Disney memorabilia!  I thought I'd do slightly different to my usual commission cards and found some Mickey and Minnie Mouse images for colouring in, on the web.  There were quite a few to chose from but in the end I chose the two of them looking all romantic.  I coloured them in using my Promarkers and cut them out.  For their tails I used the coated cord for making necklaces.  I cut them out and raised them on 3d foam but not that you can see that from the picture.  I thought I'd just use Mickey for the envelope and he is coloured in, cut out and spray glued on.  The finished card size is 8" x 8".  I just hope my neighbour likes it!
