you

I intended to upload this page to UKs but I couldn't so I have put it here.  This is my first page done in this size and only because I have just ordered myself an Amercan Crafts album!
I saw the idea for this page in a magazine a long time ago and it's been in my head to do for ages.  I can't credit anyone for the idea because I don't know who it was, but whoever you are, thank you.

It's funny

I thought I might as well scrap the photo of Lucy with Alan, while I had all the stuff out. I've used the same Twisted Sketches#51 and just turned it round. The twist was new and the buttons and ribbon are new.

Twisted Sketch #51

My poor neglected blog, where have I been, what have I been doing? Not a lot really, visiting the parents in law in their various institutions, shopping for bargains, you know, the usual. Today I thought it time I did some scrapping and did TS #51.

This photo was taken at Aberystwyth Uni in Dec 2006. Adam and Lucy went to see Alan Fletcher sing and play his guitar and aftewards met him backstage. Alan is on the phone to me - Adam quickly phoned me (about 2 am) to say he was with Karl Kennedy and did I want to speak to him. Of course I did, and so did Holly! I love Neighbours and have watched it since 1987 when Adam was born. The pull out journalling above the photo pretty much says this.
The twist was new and the ribbon at the top left is new.

This next photo is of my stash from Hobbycraft sale.  I do so love a bargain.

Twisted Sketch #50 - Pam

This is my second attempt at this one.  I don't know why, but I really like this sketch.  It is a picture of my friend Pam when she took me to Coton Manor Gardens.

Twisted Sketch #50 - wheelie good fun

This is my take on this weeks sketch.  My children loved the water and as soon as the weather was nice, wanted their Dad to put out the pool.  On this occasion they obviously couldn't wait so they got out the wheelie bin, disinfected it and then filled it with water and took turns to cool themselves off in it.  Madness!!
The twist this week was old, so I have used old papers, distressed them to look old and the photos are old (ish).  Adam must be about 16 her and he's now 22.

The Craft Garden - May challenge

I thought I'd have a go at this challenge on The Craft Garden blog because I loved the colours, although now I have photographed my layout, the colours on my page don't look as true as they are unfortunately.  I don't have the wherewithall the do anything about it though!

This next page is one I did for UK Scrappers but I thought I'd put it on my blog too as my dogs are so cute in my opinion.

Sketchy Thursday's 5.13

Life is so much easier with a sketch as a starting point:)  These pictures were taken on my recent visit to Cotom Manor Gardens.
The papers and alphas are WRMK Nonsense.  The bird and branch is a Stampin Up punch and the flowers are stamped with  Judikins stamp called Carols cube I think.

Project 12 - April

It's taken me a while to get around to doing this one and I would have preferred to put some more pictures on, but never mind, it's done now and it tells the story.

Tonight, the family (well 9 of us) went out for a meal to celebrate my birthday and to chat about the parents in law.  We went to a lovely pub next to the canal and had some fab food and wine and now I am suitably stuffed.

This is a picture of Chris and I on the decking outside the pub - this would be a fab place to sit and watch the world go by on a warm summer evening.  Perhaps we'll try that soon!  Four of us then went to visit MIL and we took her into the conservatory and had her doing karaoke!!  She really enjoyed it.

Twisted Card#7

Back in March I was asked to be a guest card maker for Twisted Cards and today my card will be shown on their blog.  Be sure to check out all the other cards made with the sketch  here - and maybe have a go at the sketch yourself.  I'm new to using sketches for cards so it's a bit of a learning curve, but it adds to the fun.

I stamped the swirly leaf (Clarity Stamps) onto white glossy card and embossed with clear powder - the glossy card gives a lovely crisp image.  The Happy Birthday (a very old stamp from Create it) was stamped onto shrink plastic.  The flowers I made from tissue paper and added a bit of pink distress stickles to give them a bit more oomph!  The ribbon came from LB Crafts and the pins from Creative Treasures.

Twisted Sketches #49 - Are you talking to me?

I used this layout for my weekly challenge over on UKs as well as the twisted sketches #49 - I had to have a title that was a question, use green, use metal and doodling, all of which I have done. The twist for #49 was colour, so I think I qualify on that count too.

Cards for Sue's Fete

These are the cards I've made for Sue's fete, using a random selection of stamps and papers.

Kay's Birthday Card

As Kay's birthday was on sunday I think I can safely upload her card now!
I think the papers are BG Urban Prairie but I'm sure my friend Laura will let me know if they are not!

June Guest Team Design Challenge - Sketchy Thursdays

I liked the sketch over on Sketchy Thursday's so I thought I'd use a bit more of my June Bug papers and enter for this.
This is another picture from the Mother's Day pile - I must be half way through them now, surely!  I've made some more of the yo yo flowers and added a fabric brad in the centres.

Today I received my prize from Crafty Templates - I'd completely forgotten about this and when a pink parcel arrived while I was at the hairdressers I assumed it was an early birthday present and very nearly didn't open it.  There is a 6" x 6" pad of papers from Pink Paislee, lots of flowers in assorted sizes, a length of pink ribbon, some very blingy buttons and a pink cloth bag which I might have to decorate (with my yo yo flowers?).  So, all in all, a lovely surprise.

Thankful and fish and chips

I started making some Suffolk puff flowers to use on my page for the twisted sketch#48 and can't stop making them!  I've done about 20.  They will come in very useful though, so it's not a waste.  They are very easy to make, just cut a circle of material, any size, bearing in mind that the finished flower will be half the size of the circle, gather the edges with small running stitches then pull together, tie the thread off then add a button or something similar to the centre to cover the gathers.  You are supposed to press them before adding the button, but I by passed that bit.
These are the 2 pages I made using these flowers.

Twisted Sketch#48 - twist is handmade anyway, anyhow

Sketchy Thursday's 5.6 - We love chips

These pictures were taken at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park last December.  I thought it was about time I scrapped a few more of the huge amount of photos I have of this day.
All the papers are from Imagination Project, Chloe's Closet.

Yesterday my friend Pam took me out for my birthday and we went to Coton Manor Gardens to see the bluebells woods.  They were absolutley stunning - blue as far as you could see.  We managed to have a spot of lunch too - home made tomato and basil soup served with homemade rolls, a slab of cake and some coffee.
On the way home we called in to Heart of the Shires shopping Village where I could have spent a fortune in various shops but I was restrained and bought some ric rac!  It was a lovely day out , thank you Pam.

A difficult card

I was asked to make a card for someone and on the front they wanted it to say "Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last", and a girl running through a field of flowers.  I'm not in the least bit artistic so I had to reply on rubber stamps and this was the best I could come up with.
At the end of the day, if the person who ordered it, doesn't like it, all that's lost is my time.  However, she won't be able to buy anything in the shops like this!  The panel with the girl on, is raised up on 3d pads and so are some of the flower heads but it's difficult to see this from the photo.

Zip the lip

This is the only page I have done so far over the Bank Holiday weekend, I don't seem to have got my head into gear, what with one thing and another.  Anyway, this is my mojo jar dip for May which was scrap Pencillines sketch 114.  This is a picture of my father in law who is in a nursing home following a fall from his bike.  He's a bit of a chatterbox and the nurse said to him yesterday, "zip the lip" so she could actually get a word in and that is exactly what he is doing:)  There will be some more journalling on the pull out strip behind the photo, but as we don't exactly know what happened with the bike accident, I am waiting until I have further information.

Birthday card and Get Well Card

I'm finding that the less cards I make the harder I find  it is to make them even though I made cards for years before I came into scrapping.  The cards I find easiest are the cute ones, not everyones cup of tea but hey!  This card was made for Sal, one of my team mates on the Bijoux Belles.

This card is really not one I want to put my name to - I made it for my father in law who has been involved with a pot hole so is in hospital at the moment.   I only had a very short time to make this so there wasn't a great deal of thought put into it, but I couldn't face buying a card.
