A few cards

I thought I'd show a few cards I've made recently.
The first one is for my friend Sue and her husband for their 30th Wedding Anniversary.
The second is a new baby card for my SIL.  The baby hasn't been born yet but I had to make a boy and a girl card ready for when he/she actually made an appearance.
The next one is for my teamie, Sarah whose birthday is today.  Happy Birthday Sarah:)

and finally a wedding card for my nephew who is getting married on saturday.
This is the card closed.
a side view - you'll have realised by now that I rather like making easel cards!

and finally the box.

Fabric buttons

I'm having a bit of a tidy up and came across some fabric so I thought I'd make some buttons!

I can see these becoming addictive!

I love this life

My final page from Shimelle's online scrapbooking - from the heart challenge.  The idea was to start the title with I love.... or I heart....

Spiral flower tutorial for Maria

Start off with a circle of patterned paper - double sided looks best but I've used card to make it easier to follow.
Depending on how you want the final look, use a punch or tear the paper.
Draw a spiral on the back and cut or tear.
Starting at the thin end, wind round a cocktail stick or pokey tool till you get to the end.  Let go and it will unravel a bit which is fine.

Put glue on the base and press the flower down onto base and hold for a couple of seconds until the glue has taken hold.
and there you have it.
Let me know it you can follow it easily enough Maria:)

Millie

A half page challenge from Shimelle's online scrapbooking from last weekend.  Leaving half a page empty is quite difficult for me so I have uploaded this quickly so I don't start adding extras!

A close up of the roses.  I usually cut these out before shaping but this time I tore them out to give a different effect.
I used white cardstock and coloured the edges with red distress ink - barn door I think.

An evening alone

I've spent the last few hours going through some old scrapbooking and card making magazines, trying to clear some space in my overcrowded craft room.  I've managed to get rid of about 100 magazines and before I went to bed I thought I'd make a very quick and simple page to record the occasion lol!
I used a couple of the free papers that I was going to bin and unusually for me, no embellishments.  I feel it's rather bare but it's late and I'm tired so that will be it.  Sometimes it's nice to record the mundane stuff as well as the bits that are more interesting and exciting!

New baby card

My sister in law asked me to make 2 new baby cards, one for a boy and one for a girl.  She asked for Tottenham Hotspurs football pictures, golf and the name Rio on  the boy card!!!  After a bit of research I made this:

It's an easel card and when open looks like this:

The clothes on the washing line are downloaded from the Spurs shop site and are baby outfits as are the cuddly toys.
I'm not sure this is a card I would have chosen to make for a new baby so I hope my SIL likes it.

enjoy yourself

For a change I have done a double page layout - something I don't do very often but needed to scrap a lot of pics at once.  The weekly challenge on UKs was to use black card, use something that was free and scrap a celebration.  The celebration is once again, our 25th wedding anniversary last month, and the papers were free with a scrapbook magazine that I don't think exists anymore.

and this is how they fit together:
I am also entering this into one of Shimelle's challenges - chop your paper challenge - to use paper as your embellishment.

A page with no title (at the moment)

This page started out to be the grid it up challenge on Shimelle's online scrapbooking weekend.  However another of her challenges was to scrap using the colours red, white and aqua so I think this fits the bill for that one too.
The picture is of me and Jen, my teamie from the Bijoux Belles.  When we went on holiday to Devon back in June I was lucky enough to meet up with her a couple of times.  I will give this page a title at some point when  I decide what to call it and where to put it!

Trevone

The next challenge from Shimelle was called Starting point and she gave us a picture of a LO which had been started and we had to create a layout starting from her design .

I found these papers when I was looking for my starting point - I don't remember buying them so I can only assume they were in a kit but there were no matching embellies with them so I am not so sure.  Anyway, they are not papers I would buy now but I am actually very pleased with how the page finally turned out.

Here are a couple of close ups.

Mickey and Me

The second challenge of Shimelles online scrapbooking weekend was to 'Create a project using stickers from more than one collection. (The stickers can be the same manufacturer or different manufacturers, but not the same paper collection)'
Although I'm not a huge fan of stickers I managed to use Kay & Co Urban Rhapsody, 7 Gypsies - Photographie and Home Maison, Sassafras - Sweet Treats, Echo Park - Life is Good and the alphas are Bella Boulevard - Spinach and pickle juice.

Shimelle's online scrapbooking weekend

If you go to Shimelle.com there is a weekend of scrapbooking with sketches, free printables, lots of ideas and prizes.
This page was made using some of the printables provided by Mary Anne.  I knew as soon as I saw this photo of Adam I had to scrap it along side one of my dad when he was young.  I thought they looked so alike.

Bucks Fizz

I really enjoyed doing the sketch for the wc so decided to do another page and this is what I came up with.  If you click on the picture it should make it a bit bigger.
The misting didn't come out as planned but never mind.

Say Cheese

Any excuse to scrap my dogs and this week the challenge on UKs was perfect for this.  A sketch was provided and gave me the opportunity to use lots of pictures of my dogs.  We also had to use a star and the letter "h" in the title, simples:)
and a couple of close ups
The little "Happy Together" is the name of the paper range and as a crafter I don't like to waste anything so stuck it on as an embellishment.

August monthly kit from Creative Craft World

I was lucky enough to be asked to make some samples up for the August kit by Creative Craft World .  As soon as I opened the package I new I was going to enjoy working with the lovely papers and this is what I came up with:-

and finally a card:-

A fabulous kit and excellent value - I only really used some scraps of card stock and some punches/dies of my own.
